Privacy policy
This policy explains what personal data HuntMyHome collects, why, and your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and, where applicable, the GDPR.
What we collect
- Account data: name, email, mobile number, role, city.
- Listing data you post, including approximate location and photos.
- Usage data: pages viewed, searches, contact reveals, device and IP address (for security and fraud prevention).
- Payment data is processed by our payment gateway; we store only order references.
Why we use it
To run the marketplace (showing listings, connecting buyers with posters), to send transactional messages (OTP, leads, approvals), to send alerts you opted into, to prevent fraud, and to comply with law.
Advertising and cookies
We use Google AdSense to show advertisements. Google and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings and learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services. Visitors from the EEA, UK and Switzerland are shown a consent dialog and may refuse personalised ads.
Sharing
When you contact a poster, we share your name and phone number with them. We share data with service providers (hosting, SMS, email, payments, analytics) under contract, and with authorities where legally required. We never sell personal data.
Your rights
You can access, correct and export your data from your dashboard, withdraw consent for alerts at any time, and delete your account (Dashboard → Profile → Delete account). Requests and grievances: Grievance Officer. We respond within the timelines set by law.
Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active and for up to 3 years afterwards for legal and fraud-prevention purposes; listing data is retained in anonymised form for market statistics.
